Hop Along Kid

The Easter Bunny was very good to Brianne this year. She didn't get any candy, but she did get some fun toys, stickers and crayons!

Brianne checking out her Easter basket.

Pretending to be the Easter Bunny!

Her favorite toy in her basket was a little wind up chick. She danced around chanting "peep peep peep" while the chick bobbled across the floor. It was hilarious. Her second favorite toy was a pack of plastic bracelets. She has an early love of jewelry :o)

Later that day, we went to Grandma Mimi and Grandpa Monroe's house. We hid (i.e. sat in plain sight) a bunch of colored eggs for Brianne to "find". She had a blast looking for all the eggs.

Finding some eggs in the kitchen.

She put all her eggs in her little ride-a-long poney basket. After she found them all, she took them on a ride around the house. We had a bunny-tastic Easter all around!

Cayden Turns 2!

Brianne's friend Cayden had his second birthday, so we enjoyed celebrating with a party at his house! Brianne had a blast swimming in the paddle pool, blowing bubbles, and eating ice cream cake.

Here's Brianne splashing around. It was impossible to keep water in this pool because every time a kid would climb in or out, a gallon of water poured out after them.

Not nice Cayden! Lol

Brianne and Cayden after lunch. All the little kids made a game of picking ice cubes out of the cooler and putting them in little tupper ware containers. Why buy toys when you can give your kids ice cubes and tupper ware?

After we were done swimming, Marty tried teaching Brianne how to hit a baseball. She actually did hit the ball!

Relaxing after a hard afternoon of partying!

Sunday Fun Day

Marty Uncle Gerry and Aunt Joanne came into town recently, and invited us over for a visit. They have a condo on Ft. Lauderdale Beach which has a great pool and a great view.

A storm was rolling in, so we didn't have much time to swim. Brianne is learning how to jump in the pool.

Marty and Brianne made the most out of their swim time and buzzed around the pool. Brianne kept saying "again!" Marty was tired, but kept racing around the pool with her.

Having fun splashing on the steps.

After it started raining, we had to bring our fun in doors. We went down stairs and checked out the gym.

Brianne had fun making funny faces at herself in the mirror.

Then we went back up to Uncle Gerry's condo. Mommy had a little too much fun playing photographer.

It was really windy up on the balcony.

Before we went to dinner, we went for a walk on the boardwalk. We stopped to watch the Allure of the Seas take off. You can see it just coming out of Port Everglades.

What a sweetie angel.

A Bridal Shower for Jen

In preparation for Marc and Jen's wedding, Jen's family threw her a beautiful bridal shower. Brianne is the flower girl, and was looking forward to getting in some practice at showering Aunt Jen. The party was at Jen's parents house up in Boca. They have a lovely home, and an awesome pool out back. As soon as we walked in the door, Brianne took one look at the pool and made a run for it. It's not a real shower unless you get wet, right? Wrong. She was very upset when we (me and 2 others) had to restrain her and bodily carry her kicking and screaming inside. She was so upset, I had to take her into a bathroom and hold her until she calmed down. She had a snack and composed herself.

After that initial melt down, Brianne did very well. We enjoyed some lunch, and mingling with our friends and family. Jen got what seemed like dozens of presents, so the bulk of the shower was spent admiring all the awesome stuff she got. Brianne wasn't too impressed with crock pots and bed linens, so entertained herself with running around the house and eating grapes. She must have eaten an entire bunch of grapes all by herself. All in all, it was a fun day, and we can't wait to welcome Jen into the family!

Sitting with Aunt Jen.

Brianne was overcome with love and walked around hugging this plush heart.

In between all the present opening, we snuck away and had a pretend photo shoot. Here is one of my current favorite photos of Brianne.

What you can't quite see is that Brianne is covered in grape juice and chocolate smears. But she still looks like an angel!

Disney On Ice

Posted by Martin and Kelly Kiar at 7:19 PM 0 comments
As the afternoons have been heating up, we have tried to figure out ways to have fun without sweating to death. One recent Sunday, we decided to beat the heat with Mickey and see Disney on Ice. I took Brianne by myself, so I was a little nervous about wrangling her and all her stuff. But Brianne did great! She was mesmerized by all the kids and all the Disney posters and decorations in the arena. I had never seen Disney on Ice so I wasn't sure what to expect. I actually really enjoyed it! They had over 50 characters as part of the show, including the Toy Story gang, all the Princesses and their Princes, and of course Mickey, Minnie and the other main characters. The skaters themselves were incredible, especially considering the costumes they had to wear.

Brianne sat through the entire show without squirming. She even had her first taste of cotton candy! At first, she didn't know what to do with it, and didn't like the fact that it stuck to her hand. But once she tasted it, she couldn't get enough! We had a blast watching the show, and can't wait to see another show.

Waiting for the show to start.

I love this picture of Brianne. She looks like a little model.

Getting ready for the big finale!
